I grew up in the Yuba/Sutter area and have seen the good and the bad that has happened to the area. Growing up in a single parent home, I know what some of the kids are going through from financial to living insecurity. I graduated from Lindhurst High School in 1993. I have obtained three college degrees, an associate in accounting and another in computer technology and a Bachelors in E-Commerce. I currently work as a Human Resource Manager for a local company in Yuba City.Â
Â
In 2004, I started my coaching career as an assistant coach for the Mighty Mites when my son turned six with Clarence Pierson for the Lindhurst Jr. Blazers Football and Cheer Program in Olivehurst. After that year, I was asked to join the board as the Secretary then in 2006, I was voted in as the Board President.Â
Â
2012, I left the Jr. Blazers program with my youngest son and went to play for Marysville and River Valley in 2013 for both his Jr. Pee Wee years.Â
Â
2014, I was contacted by the Jr. Blazers to come back as President after the current president resigned. After the 2014 season, I stepped down and returned in 2017 and 2018.Â
Â
After the 2019 season, I was again asked to come back to the Jr. Blazers as President, then I officially retired after the 2021 season. I spent the 2022 season as an assistant coach of the 10u team for the Gridley Titans.Â
Â
Throughout my time with the Jr. Blazers, I had the pleasure of being the head coach and assistant coach at various levels.Â
Â
Not only I am teaching these young men about the game of football but teaching them life lessons as well. From my high school coaches, I am a firm believer that if you put in the hard work, not only on the field but also in the class, the awards will be there.Â
